Naturepedic is an OTCO certified producer of organic mattresses and they comply with the Global Organic Textile Standards (GOTS), so you can be confident that the mattress has been certified organic. In addition to the organic cotton top and filling, one side of the mattress has been coated with polyethylene, a food-grade, environmentally safe plastic, to provide waterproof protection. Within the mattress are steel innersprings and border rods to offer great support, even around the edges of the mattress. Naturepedic products feature an exclusive fire protection system that uses baking soda, hydrated silica and cellulose fiber. These substances are naturally occurring, non-toxic, and inherently fire resistant to provide protection without introducing harmful chemicals or substances.

The word organic applies to agricultural products, such as cotton, and means that no synthetic pesticides, herbicides, or chemical fertilizers are used. Polyethylene is a food-safe and environmentally-safe plastic that creates a non-toxic waterproof mattress surface.
