You don't need to drill into the top of the dresser to attach this frame. The back side has pre-drilled holes, and comes with metal attachment plates. You secure the plates to the frame and the back of a dresser.

The Changing Tray attaches to the dresser using two small screws that are inserted into the back of the dresser. In order to safely use the Changing Tray on a smaller dresser, the top would need to measure at least as big as the tray: 36"W x 17.75"D.

The Changing Tray can attach to most any dresser, provided that there is no lip on the back of the dresser and that there is a solid area in which to screw in the hardware.

The bottom of the changing tray is lined with a soft material along all four sides to protect the top of the dresser.
