The headboard and footboard of the Walden Bed are made of solid spruce, with the exception of the beadboard detailing, which is MDF with spruce veneer. The side rails are plywood with spruce veneer and the slat system that supports the mattresses is made of solid poplar.

You should have no trouble fitting the trundle under the bed, even on a carpeted floor. However, keep in mind that it will be necessary to remove the ladder each time the trundle is used.
