there are 2 shelves. only the top one is adjustable.

Only one shelf is adjustrable (middle one). Lowest most shelf is fixed.

The top shelf of the Bookcase Hutch is fixed, with 11.75" of vertical space. The bottom shelf is adjustable, with approximately 22" of vertical space in which to position the shelf.

not sure what specifications are for weight, but definitely would hold a decent sized tv. My 38 lb. son stands on them all the time! no problem

The Drawer Base has a weight limit of 200 pounds. The Bookcase Hutch weighs approximately 38 pounds, so you could add an another 162 pounds in addition to the hutch. Each shelf on the hutch has the ability to hold up to 75 pounds.

yes, it's actually 56 3/4"
it does appear much taller in picture. Initially, I thought it looked unusual...but now that our 4 year old uses it, it's perfect size. May look odd for teenager years though

We're sorry, but the Cube Drawer Bases do not have rails to accommodate hanging files.
