need a actual comforter to insert in the cover, or is it simply a comforter to throw on the bed as is???

You need a comforter to insert into the comforter.

A comforter cover is another word for a duvet cover. You would need a comforter insert to go inside the comforter cover. While we do sell white down-alternative comforters, none of our bedding sets come with a printed comforter to match the design of the bedding.

Question
Will an 86"X86" comforter insert work inside the bed of roses full size cover? The size of the cover shows 86 x 88 and can't find insert in that size.

The comforter insert that we sell measures 88" x 88" and works well with our FQ comforter covers. One that measures 86" x 86" should be fine, but you may experience some shifting of the insert inside the cover.
