I haven't found it necessary to actually attach them. The bins have a wooden "lip" that goes around the edge that secures the top to the bottom one. So, whichever bin you put on top should stay put. They are also quite heavy and I have never seen them move anywhere. If you have a small child who might climb on them you may want to consider exploring this further, but I have never had any problems as they are very sturdy and balanced.

While hardware is included to secure each of the units to the wall, we do not include anything to attach them to each other.
