The chalkboard decals use a low tack static adhesive which is best suited for clean, smooth, indoor surfaces. We do not recommend them for outdoor use.

My boards have yet to scratch. Of course normal wear and tear is going to happen.

Any time you purchase a new chalkboard, it is important to season it before use. Seasoning the chalkboard will prepare the board to accept chalk and also make it easier to erase the markings. What you’ll need to do is take a piece of chalk and, holding it lengthwise against the board, rub it all over, completely covering the surface with chalk. After you erase this layer of chalk, the board has been seasoned and is ready for use.

While a few of the reviewers have had some issues with marking on the chalkboard, we've received very little additional negative feedback regarding this product. In fact, several of these are in use around the office and they work wonderfully. We stand behind all of our products and are happy to facilitate a return if a product does not perform as it should.

I don't see why not. If we wanted to cut ours, we could have. I'd recommend drawing an outline and using some good scissors, but it can be done.

Unfortunately, the only way to know for sure would be to test it on the wall in question. The Chalkboard Stick-Ons feature a low-tack static adhesive; the more contact the adhesive has with the wall, the better the staying power.
