The chalkboard decals use a low tack static adhesive which is best suited for clean, smooth, indoor surfaces. We do not recommend them for outdoor use.

Any time you purchase a new chalkboard, it is important to season it before use. Seasoning the chalkboard will prepare the board to accept chalk and also make it easier to erase the markings. What you’ll need to do is take a piece of chalk and, holding it lengthwise against the board, rub it all over, completely covering the surface with chalk. After you erase this layer of chalk, the board has been seasoned and is ready for use.

While a few of the reviewers have had some issues with marking on the chalkboard, we've received very little additional negative feedback regarding this product.
